The future with Sheelah

A recent comment on my earlier blog by Maluhia Taula has got me thinking. She wrote "She's getting bigger! How do you plan on killing her when she gets too big? I don't think a black widow should be kept in a home." the part that stuck out to me was do I plan to kill her. I can tell you right now that I do not. But nonetheless it has got me to think about what my plans and reasons for keeping her are. When I first found her I was watching TV at my grandpas and my sister was cleaning downstairs. She screamed and yelled for me to come kill a spider. Very lady like. I ran down and when I saw her I immediately knew I wasn't going to kill her. When I told my sister it was a black widow she freaked out and ran away. After I caught her I really didn't know what I was going to do with her. I decided I would see how long she would live and what bugs she would be able to eat. But as the days turned into weeks and the weeks turned into months she has grown on me. I think the first time I saw her catch food I felt she was my pet. It was a fly I fed her a few days after I caught her. I never expected to be this into it as I am now with making a blog and custom habitats and snapchat documentaries but it's something I enjoy. I plan on taking her to college and anywhere I go after that. I believe she is only a year old so as long as I take good care of her she should live a few years. I wouldn't be surprised if she lived to be 6 years old. I have a neighbor who works at the zoo and has lots of animals. She has a Widow named heather and I am going to see what she does with her spider and see if I need to make any changes to mine. I hope Sheelah lives for a long time but I know that just like everything else one day it will have to come to an end. But I will try to remember the words of Dr. Seuss " Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened."
